Antony, you are a talented French driver and some of our visitors will know who you are. But could you please give a short introduction about yourself to the visitors that do not know you?
I am 21. I’m from Saint Tropez but study since 3 years at Montpellier (France). Concerning the racing, I did 9 seasons: six years in karting, two years in single seaters and one year in saloon cars.
How did you get involved in racing? Have you always wanted to become a racedriver yourself and did your parents always support you?
Actually, for my ninth birthday my dad took me to the nearby karting track, which just opened few weeks before. I became quickly “addicted” and went there every week. I found out that I had a good level and asked my dad to do competitions in 2000. That is how I started racing, and my dad and I became fan of racing.
Did you start your career, like many other drivers, in karting? Do you think karting will be an essential step in the career of a race driver?
Yes, as I said before, I did 6 seasons of karting. I think it had been the most important information I had in my career. It gave me the competition spirit and the basics of driving.
You have raced in different cars throughout the years. You drove Formula Campus, Formula Renault 2.0 and Eurocup Renault Megane. What is the best car you have driven with, and why?
The Megane Trophy is a great car, but I preferred the Formula Renault. That car gives more sensation in fast corners, because of the more important aerodynamics.
What are your expectations for the 2010 season and what are your plans for 2010?
I haven’t any plan yet for 2010, but I’m looking for a season in GT3.
Every race driver has good and bad moments during his career. What is your best moment in racing, until now? What is the moment you would like to forget as soon as possible?
My best moment would be my last Formula Campus race in Dubai, where I did two podiums while I started from the 15th and 18th position. The one I’d like to forget is probably my season in Megane Trophy, where I wasn’t as fast as I expected after the winter tests, which were really motivating.
If you take a look at your future, what will the future bring to you then? Are there special targets that have to be accomplished during your career?
I don’t really know yet, it will probably depend of the 2010 season…
If you could change your life with another racedriver for just one day, who will be the one you are changing with?
Jenson Button, because he is the current World Champion in Formula 1 and I would love to win that title too.
Although the racedriver is the one that really scores the results, there are always a lot of people on the background that also have a big influence on the results and career of a racedriver (sponsors, mechanics etc.). Is there a special person in your career that you would like to thank, and why is that person special to you?
I’d like to thank my father, who supports me since the beginning of my career.
Many people think that the life of a racedriver is all fun and just a dream. But if you take a look to the ‘inside’ of racing, what is the hardest part of being a race driver?
For sure it is the winter period, when you don’t know if you will find a plan for the next season or not.
What would you like to say to everyone that is dreaming of a career in racing?
Keep the trust in your dreams to be involved in racing.
